Ready for a little winter exploring? Head to Philly with Trading Post for a six-mile hike led by outdoorsman, John Gordon. He has tackled Kilimanjaro and the Appalachian Trail and led a life of outdoor adventure. Most recently he has inspired folks to get outdoors by leading Trading Post groups on local trails in Bucks County and one of America's Top 50 most scenic hikes - Mt. Tammany. Next up? A Philadelphia oasis of peace and beauty - the Wissahickon! Here's what you can expect on this next hike:
A beginner intermediate hike that is rocky, with switch backs at some points - uphill and downhill walking is involved, but nothing more difficult than that. Almost anyone can do this hike. It will be just under 6 miles total. We will be walking along a river pretty much the whole time. There’s is a gorgeous covered bridge, the Green Valley Inn, that will be our turning point and optional lunch stop.
